I'm trying to go to school, but by the looks of things, i cannot renew my scholarship, no co-signer, no loans, so i cant pay for school. I just left my job, looking for another one. I'm supposed to leave Aug. 18th to another state, but no money, no place to stay. I dont think staying at home is for me because i'm uncomfortable there [cant get along witih mother (cant even say "good morning without it being something")]. So i'm thinking i'm about to be homeless in about 2 weeks. What to do?

Why are you supposed to leave for another state on that specific day? Obviously we don't know the whole story. But I would agree with the other people on here. Save up money first, work your *** off, than get the hell out of there. I'm thinking unless your mom is abusive and comes into your room at night and....

The streets are not as nice as your mom. That's just a guess though. At least you have a warm home and food. (but that's also just a guess) I used to think I couldn't bear living at home. I still do, and I'm glad I got out, but it's not easy.

Apply for grants through FAFSA. They will give you money...but hurry and do it today so that the form will process before school starts. If you go ahead and enroll in school now you can live in student housing...and that doesn't have to be paid off till the end of the sememster. So...enroll, apply for grants/loans (you will need tax info from one of your parents unless you are 24 or older...but your parents won't have to sign off on any loans/grants), then find a part time job. If you need more financial assistance, look into getting food stamps.

You'd better stay at home, as unpleasant as that may be, until you secure another job. If you voluntarily left your other job, it's unlikely you are eligible for unemployment compensation.

Without any income, finding a place to live is just about impossible, unless you have a friend to stay with. Don't let yourself become homeless if you can possibly help it.

Sounds like you have a real problem! Sometimes its easier to just agree and try to get along with your mother especially considering the alternative. Just do your absolute best to get another job and then work on getting back to school. Hang in there things will get better.

I think being little stressed under roof is better than homeless. Atleast you wont have to pay rent and for food. I dont know how old you are but think you should stick it out with your mom atleast until you can afford to be on your own. M not even gona talk about school cuz i know how hard it is.....

I've been there, best off applying for a student loan, depending on your age & personal circumsatnce you should qualify, look too rent a room in a house sharing utilities, get a good education, get your own life & mind straight & then a good job will follow.

get a job, try community college, just take few classes that you can afford. if grants arent avail ,just keep looking. dont talk to mom if you can avoid it.. going back to school is important. look for a job in the state you want to move to, even a nanny position, they have room & board & you can go to school at night

well, if u want to be homeless be homeless or you can suck it up for a little while at moms house untill your on your feet again. it sucks but it will get better at moms for a while. at least you will have a place to sleep and shower while your job hunting, and it will give you a chance to save your money.

Get a job--any kind that's safe.
Move to an inexpensive apartment (maybe share one?)
Enroll in an inexpensive, local college or junior college.
If you already have college credits, make sure to
transfer them to your new school.

I'd get a job first, save some money, and then move.
It's never nice to move in bad terms.

Good luck
