I have terrible dark circles under my eyes. I get 8 hours of sleep, I drink plenty of water and I'm not anemic. Any suggestions?

This is probably hereditary. If it is, it either means that the pigmentation around your eyes is lighter than it is on the rest of your face, or that you have thin skin near your eyes, and blood vessels are showing through the skin in that area.

But in addition to your other good health habits, it wouldn't hurt to try an excercise program and a multi-vitamin pill. It also wouldn't hurt to see a doctor, have a blood sample taken, and see if you are deficient in any nutrients or vitamins.

There is a diet that will help your complexion, no matter what your age. It will also prevent cancer, heart disease and diabetes, and it will make you lose fat and gain muscle, to boot!

Fill yourself up with a lot of dark, green leafy vegetables and fish, especially the ones high in Omega-3 fatty acids--tuna, mackeral, and salmon. Eat at least one serving of whole grains, such as oatmeal or brown rice per day. Use olive oil to saute your fish. Snack on fresh fruit. Use only non-fat dairy products. Eat NO white flour, NO sugar, and NO fried foods, except those you lightly saute with olive oil. Limit, but do not entirely eliminate red meat. And if you break any of these rules, just get right back on the diet.

If you combine this with an hour of vigorous excercise per day, you'll be so beautiful no one will care about your dark circles!

I have always had this problem with circles, too. My complexion was helped by that diet, but I also use a product called "Vita K for Dark Circles Under the Eyes." You can buy it at Walgreens. It's not cheap; it's about ten dollars for a tiny bottle, but you use just a wee bit at a time. If you use it religiously, you will see a gradual improvement.

If you have thin skin near your eyes, a product containing Retina-A, targeted to the eye area, may thicken the skin and make underlying blood vessles harder to see.

I don't use concealer because my approach to make-up is to highlight the nice aspects of my face; this draws attention from flaws. I do not believe that any concealer can hide this particular flaw, except maybe in the evening under artificial light. As you age, the concealer becomes even harder to use, because it begins draw attention to fine lines around your eyes.

Get some Vita K, make your eyes and lips pretty, tilt your head up (to reduce shadows) and smile!

By the way, in recent years at least one Vogue model had circles under her eyes.

sometimes they are hereditary. Try some serum made for under eye circles. Otherwise, start practicing with a good concealer.

It could be hereditary, you can use a good concealer to cover it. try yellow concealer, the yellow will neutralize the dark under eye area http://www.marykay.com/s_azad/color/concealers/mksignatureconcealer/default.aspx

umm i would try freezing spoons and when you wake up in the morning, put one spoon on each circle. make sure the back side is to the skin so it fits better. this also works on hickies lol. its worth a try, good luck.
