I am a black person. One black person. I am not the representative of my race so I can not speak for all black people but, we are all individuals with our own ideas and oppinions like anyone else and possibly the reason this cartoon did not get the reaction from the black community that you think it probably deserved was because most black people did not find the cartoon worth bothering about. Yes, the cartoon is offensive but, if black people got together and boycotted, rallied and complained against every ignorant, idiot that made slanderous comments, gestures or statements against us, we would not have time to do our jobs, spend time with our families, basically just live our lives. You have to pick and choose your battles and know when to shrug some morons off. The fact that you, a non black person was offended, is proof that others are also bothered by obscene, disgusting behavior like this pathetic cartoon. The fight against hatred directed at anyone is the responsibility of everyone, not just those who are targeted.

First of all what does this have to do with Liberals and why aren't the Republicans outraged? Secondly black people do not relate to Mrs. Rice nor does she with the black community and third of all we live in a civilized country where people have a lot more tolerance. These people burn our American flag daily but I never see Americans protesting in the streets because of it plus the media hasn't really made a big stink about this cartoon like they did the Muslim cartoon. This was a cheap attempt to try and bash Liberals, come on you can do better than that!

Condaleezza Rice is a smart cookie. I would like to think that the community is just realizing it for what it is. A nice piece of American hypocrisy. I think that there are to many things that are not part of the big picture and distract from the real issues at hand. This country has gotten very much into making a mountain out of a mole hill. Or maybe the community just hasn't seen it yet.

And would protesting this cartoon do any good whatsoever? If we complain about everything that discriminated someone, that is all we would have time to do. Bigger people would just look at it for what it is, tasteless..then they would move on to something more important.

The portrayal of her as a monkey might have to do with her association with G.W.B. He too is often portrayed as a monkey.
