During WW2 my father was stationed in Germany. After he died his sister gave me a picture of him holding a little blonde baby. She is his daughter. I would love to find her. We didn't know about her at all until 25 years after he passed away. My father had jet black hair and stood 5'8" with dark complextion and weighed in at 135 lbs. I feel we were cheated out in knowing her and my mother also passed away and she had no knowledge of her. Please if anyone has any information I would appreciate it. Dad was Staff Sgt. in the Army and was also a sharp shooter. He was a man with a great sense of humor and very kind hearted. Please let me know if anyone has any information.
Thank you for any help you can give.

Here is a link to an official DOD site where you can request copies of military records. They might give you more detail about the area in germany where your father was stationed: http://www.armyairforces.com/help.asp
Here is a site for "Besatzungskinder" (offspring of military forces member):

Once you know area in germany you can localize your search online, by posting to region specific boards and sites. If you need help, feel free to pm me. Good luck.

You will need to know where he was stationed at for one thing. Military.com is a start in finding that out. From there research organizations that deal with children born of military members in foreign countries, they are out there. There should be if there aren't any because this has been an issue for quite sometime. There were programs for kids labeled 'amer-asian' from the vietnam era, where our soldiers had fathered a child then rotated back to the states. If you can find such an organization check with them with the information you have. If you know the townships your father was in, you will have to check about inquiring on birth records and such.
Good Luck!
