I would find a way to take both boxes. I would sit on the microwave if I had to.

If it was me...I'd find a way to make both fit. I've never had to leave anything behind before...there is always a way to move stuff around to fit in two more items. But, if it was between leaving the microwave and leaving a box of mementos...I'd leave the microwave. Microwaves are cheap and replaceable.
Actually...here's the solution. go through the large box and stick as much as possible inside the microwave. The rest of the stuff could easily be stuffed in various places like behind and under seats. So, you wouldn't have to leave anything.

I'd take books and momentos. You can't replace momentos and you can buy a new microwave when you get where you are going. Besides, it might even be about time to replace or upgrade your microwave. Or even cook the "old-fashoned" way and use the stovetop and oven.

Leave the microwave behind. You can get those real cheap. The momentos you may regret tossing out because there are more of them and you probably took careful planning to acquire them in the first place.
No one remembers thier microwaves...

I'd take the box and leave the microwave. Alot easier to buy another microwave then to replace all the books and memories.

The box of stuff. I imagine most of that can't be replaced. Microwaves, however, are becoming increasingly less expensive, generally hold no sentimental value, and can be purchased almost anywhere for a reasonable price.

I'd put the pics in the microwave and take both...you can't actually be serious to leave behind mementos. ???
A microwave is cheap enough to replace.
A memento is not replaceable.

I'd take the miscellaneous. A new microwave is not terribly expensive, and those pictures and memories can't be replaced at any cost!
