Conceit is a favorable or unduly high opinion (one blown out of proportion usually) of your own abilities, worth, or opinions.

Confidence is the faith that you have self-assurance to be able to tackle the challenges that life places before you.

Confidence is a good part of anyone's personality -- and to be assured that you know you can try any task placed before you or be able to try to deal with any difficulty that life may put in your path is what makes for a mentally healthy human being.

Conceit is when a person gives off the impression that they are better than others -- and lets you know it in many different ways -- that they can do something better than you (but you actually have the skill to do the task), shove in your face their posessions/worth, or something else that is obnoxious.

So be aware that as a mentally/emotionally healthy human, we need the confidence to tackle whatever life presents to us as we journey through the years. Conceit on the other hand is a problem, and will only cause difficulty in interpersonal relationships, and harms the balance we need as individuals for a healthy mental/emotional status.
