DO NOT DO THIS. THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY THIS IS DANGEROUS!!!!!
You could scar the baby.
Infection.
Hemmorage.
Maternal and infant death.
Try to make her comfortable instead.
Take her to see a massage therapist who will put her body in balance.
Have her do pelvic rocking. This will encourage baby into a good position and may make more more comfortable as well.
Have her talk to her caregiver if she is in "terrible pain!"
CALL THE DOCTOR OR MIDWIFE!
(BTW...contractions feel a lot LESS intense while the bag is still intact! If she is in labor and having contrax already, rupturing her membranes will make her MORE uncomfortable.)

Have a doctor do it! If ou try something at home, it could cause an infection and that wouldn't be good or either the baby or your mom. If she's in pain, she should be in the hospital already.

There isn't too much you can really do. has she tried talking too her doctor? I tried most all the wives tales when I was pregnant with my first. I was two weeks over due when she was born. but nothing worked for me. I have heard that if you drink caster oil it will induce labor. I could never bring myself to drink it so I don't know. try some heat packs it helps with the pain and discomfort.

You need to take her to the hospital. Let a professional do what needs to be done, if she is in that much pain, could be a problem. She needs to be where there are trained people that can care for her, and the baby.

Never try any do-it-yourself while you are pregnant. Doctors use sterilized equipment. If you insert anything with bacteria, it may cause the baby to have an infection and die. Bring her to the hospital.

Call the midwife and hospital maternity ward for advice.
Could she be experiencing labour pains (she should know, she had you).
Let the profesionals do the work, you just need to get her to the hospital and be there for her.

i'm pretty sure only a trained professional can do that and it doesnt always work if i'm assuming you're trying to speed up the labor process.
