Yup. The 1.8L engines are pretty easy to maintain, but their weak spot is the profile gasket, which is fatal to the engine if it ever fails.
BMW 4 cyl. doesn't get imported into teh US anymore. The smallest displacement is their 2.5 inline-6 used in the 3 and 5 series.

BMW doesn't make 4 cylinder cars.
the lowest is the inline 6.
the old 4 cylinders were from the 2002 back in the 70's.

BMW actually does a good job stocking parts for out-of-production models. They recently even built an old car from the 1960s (a 2002) but using almost 100% new parts. It's a brand new car!

4 cylinders are fuel efficient and well if you know how to maintain it then your car would last longer. people say it's hard to get parts bs. you can get a part within a day or 3 days. the meaning of hard to get is can't even find the part or anything like that but you can actually find parts easily. most parts that are changed alot spark plugs filter air filter etcc. are there to come byh.

no way dude...bmw dosent make a 4 anymore...it will be hard to come across parts, at least stick with the inline6, better fuel effincy, more power, more spare parts

well it depends on what year the newer ones yes the older one yes and no more on the no side because to mt knowelage that they are mecanical fuel injection which gets very frusterating if you dont know what your doing.
