Is love when 2 people meet and they're automatically excited about passng on their genes together- they instantly image what their kids are gonna be? Why do we pick a person to fall in love with? Must they be oposite from us- tall vs short, slim vs fat, more education, making more $, etc, etc. Is happiness an individual thing- if so how can we expect another to make us happy and relationships to be happy if love is about passing on your genes. Can you be in love and not desire to make babies with that person? Can love last once the child bearing responsibilities are over? Do we sabotage love when we expect another person to makes us happy?

I don't think love consists of meeting and trying to visualize your kids.Not all of us pic a person to fall in love with, sometimes it just happens. About the opposite thing, some people just compliment each other (per say: a loud person with a quiet person). Happiness is an individual thing and it is wrong to rely upon someone to bring happiness to you. When "we" depend on someone to make us happy I think it should be a shrink. I do believe that you can love or be in love without wanting to make babies. I am thrilled to see you use the word sabotage...... it is a reasonable description for what you are referring to. It is however incredible to have a partner to share our happiness with.

true love is a consistant good attitude towards life and it respects it's creatures. It doesn't let feelings dominate its reasoning. In my belief, our god is superior lest anyone make themselves superior in a relationship. If it's not a god, let it be something else we share, like goals or something. Friendship is the best way to keep a relationship strong. Love can also make you enemies feel remorse. Saying yo love someone is worthless if you don't prove it with your attitude.
