she is no friend, if you have been trying to arrange this for 4 years and she has let you down. don't give her any more money for this holiday, also yes you should get her to give you the deposit back, and if she doesn't then you could go through the small claims court, though check with the citizens advice bureau first, to see if this is an option for you, though even the threat of going to court may frighten her into paying you back, good luck and i hope you do get a good holiday this year.

Your dam right, you should ask for ur deposit back. And while ur at it, get a new friend or check the one u have. Simply let her know that u feel its rude( because it is) to make plans with ur friend on several occasions and not follow through! Ur not her dam doormat, and u have feelings too. Why not make plans with other friends, that is very fair of this so called friend at all.

absolutly..................and while your at it you might want to try sticking up for yourself too. If shes been doing this for four years, i'm guessing she thinks she can get away with it. You need to let her know how your feeling to prevent it happening again
It's very likly she doesn't think she is doing anything wrong, most people can't see what effect there actions have on those close to them
Time to set her straight and sort out that friendship, it will probably relive a lot of tension that i can almost guarentee has been building up over this issue.
Good luck!

Absolutely...if you were the one who was all ready to go and lived up to your commitment, you shouldn't be punished or stuck with the bill because she chose to not follow through on her end. She sounds quite flaky...I would definitely not plan any future holidays with her until she can be a bit more committed.

Yes, I think she should pay you back. Legally though I don't think she has to. If she is any kind of friend she will anyway.

She's no friend of yours. It really shouldn't be this difficult to commit to a friendship.
