Why have a question removed....if you don't want to answer it, just ignore it.

Under most circumstances, I agree, however, there are people logged on of all ages. When people are posting blatantly offensive questions about extreme sexuality, child pornography and so on, I'm fine with it being removed. If this was a site for adults only, then anything would be fine. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The freedom of speech demands equal responsibility. Some people do not exercise that responsibility. In abdication of their personal responsibility, someone else has to take on the role.

I try to be as open minded as I can. We don't necessarily remove questions unless we delete our own question. Yahoo removes questions based on the content of the question asked or reports sent in by different persons. If a question does not comply with yahoo's community guidelines they have a right to remove it or people can request it be removed. They specifically state whats acceptable and whats not. You can't blame people for doing what they're suppose to do.

Not our rules. That thing that we all said we'd accept has a slew of rules that I may well be violating this very moment, for all I know.

I usually just accept and don't know what I'm accepting, thinking that I doubt I'd be in violation of anything they ask of us. Perhaps some people do read it and hold the rest of us accountable.

Maybe lewd and lascivious or racially insulting stuff or baiting a child type stuff "MUST" be removed, I don't know. I don't have a problem with deciding not to answer and moving on, sometimes the shock is what some of us need when something's really kinky or really insulting. P

arents should protect their own kids, but I'd understand if something had to be removed to protect them - my consicience couldn't bare one of them being harmed just so my civil liberties are kept in tact.

I feel I'm open minded, others may think differently though. I've never had a question removed because I don't agree, I just don't answer it. I have had a few answers to my questions that I didn't agree with, but everyone is free to have their own opinions.

well ignoring the question is away to go but if someone already put the question out to answer then you answer it the person that asked the questions has the option of reading what was said and take advise or just plane remove that it act like it never happened

Because there are a lot of kids on Yahoo Answers, so I report questions that people ask that are clearly intended to challenge the rules and ones that strive to be trashy, gross, profane and disgusting.

Yahoo Answers is designed as a community, not a porn/adult site. Whether you realize it or not, you can influence younger people--consider being a role model for classy behavior.

Maybe you didn't get enough role modeling on how to be a gentlemen in any situation, or how to respect women, even when they don't respect themselves. Think about what your legacy is.

I like to think that I am. I would never try to have anyone's question removed, no matter how repulsive I found it. I have the choice to answer it or ignore it, and everyone else should have that choice, too.
Censorship is ugly.

Maybe the person didnt remove it, it could have been Yahoo! Answers. And, in some cases, they want to edit the question, and it is re-written later.

There are questions that are put out here specifically to
make other people feel hated.

That is, people are deliberately being discourteous and
hating towards another - or trying to provoke other people
to hate.

We don't need it. We don't want it. We will complain about it.

People need to learn to recognize the difference between
provoking thoughtful, progressive discussion and simply
fostering hate mongering.
