Maybe say something like "Just because you are in first and we are 4 games back doesn't mean the Padres are any good. Both teams suck!"

You could try shaving a bald spot on top of your head, throwing on a brown robe, tying a rope around your waist and wearing sandals. Then you could say, "Hey, look, I'm like a Padre now, cheer for me Padre fan. Do it. Do it because I said it."
Or you could tell him the San Diego Chicken is an abomination. Really hurt his feelings.

i live in san diego so theres alot of padre fans and im an A's fan so i just say "so, how many world series have the padres won?" its the best because the padres havent won a world series. its works with the chargers fans too.
