You just called the baby an "it" yourself!!! This will do your baby no harm, and he may need to adjust to calling the baby by name. Just politely say that you would prefer he refers to the baby by name. Lots of people do this, and while it is not particularly polite, it certainly does no harm. Concentrate on your parenting and don't sweat the small stuff!!!

I mean I don't want "it" to develop a complex or something.
Then quit referring to the Baby as an "it" yourself! You can find out its "sex" by a sonogram, or the old wives way, (carry it high, its a girl, low its a boy)-->Not always accurate, but it gives you something to go on until you know :)
Always refer to your child as the "baby", and him as either Daddy or Father :)
For him, right now, its a nightmare of mixed feelings, as he is unsure of what "he" should do!
(Yea, when I found out how "dangerous" it was for my wife to have a child...it sure put a damper on me wanting a baby!! Its scary how many ways a woman can lose her life, because of child birth!)...
So, he is feeling inadequate, or he is wondering his "role", in being a father, if he will be a good one or bad one, how he is going to approach it and all that..
Insecurities will about with each of you...
I wish you well..

Isn't it wonderful how much you want things to be good when you have a baby? That's a good instinct and you should follow it.
You cannot get your boyfriend to do anything. You have to make choices about whom should be around your baby.
the baby will get a complex from being left in day care. right now, your baby doesn't understand the significance of the words your boyfriend uses. You do, tho.

Tell the Jerk if he can't refer to your child by it's name instead of "it", then he should hit the road, because if he doesn't take the time to know your baby, then what do that say about your relationship with him.

Knowing the sex of the baby, and naming him/her before birth helps, for 9 months everyone has refered to your baby as "it".
And your pregnacy as "it". The word "it" is just a pronoun.
It will pass on it's own.

LOL my husband did this too... Really untill they start to show signs of looking like a male or female, you wont get a he/she outta him. It will be okay and dont take offence some men cant help it. If your child obviously looks like a sex then you should keep reminding him, maybe he'll catch on. Good Luck!!

He will recognize the baby as a person soon enough. Did you notice you referred to it as an it in your question?

why do you want someone who refers to your baby as it? and you don't mention if the baby is his or not. and in the beginning of your question you also refer to the baby as "it" so what are you really asking advice for?

As others have said, you just referred your baby as an 'it' also. Just start saying him or her whichever the case may be. When you catch yourself saying 'it' just correct yourself. And correct your boyfriend too. Get married by the way.
