I dont want to connect to NTL & I really dont want to have to get a landline from BT just for my broadband connection.

If there are none, can anyone recommend a cheap (but good) broadband provider.

yeah only NTL offer broadband via cable at this time. Trouble with that is, it is only available in certain areas

As for sky broadband, you require a phone line for your sky, and there offer is for broadband via ur phoneline.

Pipex are good, wanadoo is the biggest (should say orange as they have bought them out)

or try virgin, 14.99 a month, no 12 month contract

well.. u have a choice of NTL but u wouldnt want that. So i'd suggest sky broadband. Recently sky just launched its broadband service and its darn cheap. Search on the internet and check it out. It would be very worth it though if u have skytv at home.

NTL is the only one i know of. I would recomend their broadband service. The good thing about it is you don't need to subscribe to their phone or tv pakages.

You could try http://broadband.sky.com/flash.htm but you need to sign up to sky tv before you get it and to get sky tv you need a telephone line anyway. So I would say NTL/Telewest cable or another cable company. Has ntl/telewest are the same and biggest cable company. Get that if you are in thier area.

You could get a wireless laptop and find your nearest hotspot and log on to the internet that way.
