Go to the Service providor & prove them that you are the owner the mobile. & then they will help you with the Signals that the mobile is receiving. e.g. If the Thief is in Scaramento in California & they will give you the exact place that the mobile is currenty been used at. You have a right to trace these details if you are an owner of a lost mobile phone or if you have a Court order to trace a mobilephone.

Every unit has its unique serial number. Just press *#06# on your mobile to see your mobile's serial number. Mobile thief can change the whole appearance of your mobile, but this unique serial number can not be changed. You can trace it by reporting your phone number. In case the "thief" has changed the number, you can still trace it by reporting the IMEI or Unique handset serial number. Every(GSM) handset has this number.

You should contact the phone company and have them diconnect service. Once that is does, there is a way to have them see what calls are being made and from what area they are being made from, so that way you can have some kind of idea!
