Someone who actually has any kind of ideas?
Example, take the group of people on here whose questions consist of insulting this group that they call "Neocons", and "exposing" them, and whose answers usually show just enough intelligence to say "Bla bla bla, Bush did it NEOCON", yet not ONE of them offer any solution except, impeach Bush and don't vote Republican.
OR
Would you rather vote for someone who tries hard to be balanced, and who actually attempts to offer solutions? Whether they're Democrat, Republican, Independent, liberal, or conservative doesn't matter in this question.
And, who would you rather listen to, the former or the latter? For me, it's the latter.
In other words, who would you vote for, for any political position, off of this site?

I'm not talking about politicians, I'm talking about people on this site.

By "balanced", I mean trying to serve the peoples' interests as best as they can, without resorting to namecalling, and attempting to make a person look bad.

Please read the whole question, and all of my comments before answering. Don't just tell me to "shut up and vote Democrat" or for any other political party please.

2006-08-02 05:52:21 · update #3

The people I called out on my first comments are NOT Democrats. They don't deserve to be equated with any of the fine REAL Democrats I've known.
Of course, it's the same with the "Republicans" on here who ask questions like "Why are liberals so dumb?"
Both of those intolerant kinds of people should form their own political party...because I don't think the Democrats OR Republicans want them.

Whenever the words "liberal" and "conservative" become put-downs, you have entered the realm of romper room mentality. It's funny how we 'adults' demonstrate our knowledge and experience through childish schoolyard name calling.

As much as I like to get into political discussions, it seems I have to weed through all the manure being slung around at anyone who differs from their own way of thinking. Is it necessary? Is it working for them? Do they feel empowered?

Of course it's an end-product of our society and human nature. While I can understand the desire to go off on someone, our ethics should steer us back on course. Perhaps the lack of that equalizing force is partly why many seem to feel that our society has become immoral.

Is there anyone out there that shines as a good example or shows true leadership qualities?

I personally do not care what side of the spectrum they come from. We all share a common desire to see our families prosper, to see our children have opportunities that we didn't, to see our communities working together, and to realize our nations can unite in peace. We can do better. The problem is we don't need just ONE good leader; we need a lot of them. It starts with individual leadership and ethical conduct. Drop the egos. Be willing to discuss issues openly, despite our differences.

Create solutions where differences once resided. Help us move in a path that gives the US a good name and earns the respect of others. Let's demonstrate our strengths and assets, not display our dirty laundry. We can do better.

I love our country but I am extremely concerned about the leaders we have chosen and the path we are headed. It's not because they are Republicans or Democrats. It's because our good name and our respect is being trashed. We can do better and we will need the help of everyone (whether conservative, liberal, or independent) to make it happen.

Those willing to contribute their efforts need to step up to the plate and leave their egos behind.

We do not have a choice in our elections. Vote for whoever you want but when it comes down to it we will get Dem. or Rep. One or the other and I am SICK of it. Political parties nowadays are a JOKE and are taking advantage of the people who vote for them by not truly representing them. Oh yeah they can defend there platforms like crazy but I want some ACTION, not the bickering back and forth. A lot of issues are pissing the people of the U.S. and the world off right now and our politicians are doing NOTHING. They fire back and forth at each other about who's paryt is better and don't really solve any problems. Poltitcal parties also get in the way of a real person getting far up the ladder by controlling the media during the elections and telling lies about what they are going to do. They are causing a huge rift by letting these issues drag on and the entire world is mocking us and our leadership because they are doing nothing but argue with each other about things. Our politicans need a boot in the kiester to get things going and start making decisions. I don't care anymore what really happens with the issue I just want them to solve something for a change and not just argue about it. The longer issues go unresolved, the bigger the rift will get until we all reach our breaking points. I love my freedom to vote but we don't really have a choice because, until we really wan't a change, it will be a Democrat or Republican every time and we will not see any changes for the better.

One could question the results of the last election very easily with some of the trials in Ohio and Texas presently. Understand that there is not one party that is going to meet your absolute expectations. Naturally the party that is not in power is going to point to the faults of the one that is. Then their paltform will be one of change. One needs to select the party that best attempts to meet their needs. The party that will balance the budget and pay the bills with out using credit cards. The party that will work for affordable health care. The party that will maintian Social Security and not hand it over to wall street. The party that will look for ways of keeping jobs in the country. The party that will help to rebuild the middle class. The party that will protect our retirements. The party that will stop the rich from moving money to off shore banks without having to pay taxes while living here. The party that will look for ways to make drugs available to all Americans, even if it means importing them from Canada. The party that will allow stem cell research with restrictions to move to the elimination of many deseases for Americans that are here now. The party that will stop being the worlds policeman and move towards the world community handling issues such as Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. Anything less is handing power over tho the rich who have no problem volunteering the poor in the name of democracy and freedom. These are the issues that effect most Americans. This is the platform that you should look for.

You sound like a parrot without any lines. All you just did was repeat what everyone knows the Republicans say everyday on these pages. There are several examples on politics right now, and I am sure I could go to your page, and find hundreds of examples of your Democrat hatred. I'm sure I could find hatred over slavery and the African American ethnic issue do you want me to post up your pages for you so you can remember?

I would vote for someone who I feel would represent the people and would have constructive ideas on having better border control due to the treat of terrorism and a strong military, low unemployment, better health care and social security reform.

Honestly, I think all politicians are corrupt. You have to sell out so much to get to the top that when you get there I doubt you really stand for anything. That being said I still support the President because he's our leader.

Why don't you take a look at the roll call it lists how each member of congress and the senate votes........whether you like it or not most votes are decided along party lines.so find your issues and see how they voted...then make an informed decision.

Until we can get beyond invectives and diatribes, with each trying to prove the other party is Unamerican and traitorous, nothing will get done of any real worth.

your question is silly since it already attacks democrats. Republicans favour the rich and powerful and Democrats tend to favour the other side. It's as simple as that. So pick.
