Because if you are going to vote for a enviromental wacko party you should vote for mine.

I am the founder of the SPLATT (short for Stop PLATe Tectonics) political party. Our platform is shaky. It's to eliminate earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis and the damage that they cause.

Our mascot: the flatworm

Theme songs: "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "Whole Lot of Shaking Going On", "I Fell the Earth Move Under My Feet", "Hunka Burning Love", "Ebb Tide", "Surfin’ USA", “Catch a Wave”

Energy saving device: Lava Lamps *
Environmental clean-up agent: Lava soap *

Favorite food, breakfast: squash pancakes
Favorite food, lunch: tile fish
Favorite food, supper: plank steak
Snack food: thick crust pizza
Beverage: milk shakes

At least for the near future, the green party won't be winning any important elections (as much as I would like them to win). Voting Democratic is the closest thing to voting for the green party. I'm sure a person who's for the green party prefers a Democrat over a Republican.

I've voted Green in the past two presidential elections and wouldn't change that decision for anything. Voting for the republican or democratic candidates is just a selection for the lesser evil.

The only wasted vote is the one not made.

Because a one-issue platform is unrealistic in a complex world. Such parties tend to ignore the impact of other systems on their main issue leading to unintended consequences that can often be disastrous to the country.
