Which Volkswagen -- Bug, Micro Bus, Karmann Ghia, Thing? Is it fully restored or fully customized? (It can't be both; restoration means original parts; customization means modifications and/or after-market equipment) Are you selling it out of your garage or are you willing to take it to an auction?

Here are some tidbits for you (consider the prices as the absolute high, very unlikely to achieve and almost impossible to exceed):

A 1960 Volkswagen Split-Window Pickup sold for $15,275 at Christie's auction in Monterey on August 18, 2005.

A heavily modified 1973 Volkswagen Type 181 Thing sold for $38,880 at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale sale held January 25-30, 2005.

A 1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible sold for $12,650, including buyer’s premium, at the RM Monterey auction held on August 13-14, 2004.

A 1965 Volkswagen 21-Window Deluxe Micro Bus (two owners, 31,000 miles, rust-free) sold for $38,500, including buyer's premium, at RM's Monterey auction on August 17, 2002.

A 1979 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible sold for $21,450, including buyer's premium, at RM's Arizona Biltmore sale held January 18, 2002.
