In a time in American and World history where a lot of important things are happening and we need the support of our leaders, all of them seem to be on vacation. Our current president is on a record setting pace of taking vacation days. Since voted into office he has spent 40% of his time on vacation, surpassed only by his father who spent around 550 days in a four year period on vacation. Our Congress is set to work only 80 days this year, and the Supreme Court has herd less than 30 cases in the current present presidential term. Where are our leaders?

If you listen to the media our President is doing too much of the wrong things in their opinion. I think that the less they actually do the better. mainly because they seem to concentrate on items that really do not matter for the most part. So they pass laws that only matter to a select few that have the platform to publicize what it is they want and generally its some emotional issue that really has no or little effect

The President is ON THE JOB 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It is a very stressful job and with the way you ungrateful people treat him - it is a wonder that he gets up every morning full of hope and optimism that the world will be a better place because of what we are doing.

When I used to work for a living I found that when I got away from my job and let the alpha waves of the brain kick in, I was able to solve a lot of problems I was facing at work. Sometimes the most productive times occur away from behind the desk.

"our gods are at war
but they cannot protect us
our leaders are at war
hot war or cold war
either way some of us burn

if the gods were real
they would destroy our leaders
or destroy us all

the earth spins along in its orbit
and we clutter the surface
with roads and houses and churches
pile rubble on our history
bones into the earth

if aliens are watching
I think we will never know
more likely they would simply watch
on what passes for television
eat what passes for popcorn

entirely unable to believe
we are real"

swallow this...on a recent study it showed that 23% of this population follows sports closely on the nightly news...and 17% follow washington closely....

a gap that has grown larger since the last study...where it was 25% and 24% respectably..

if people don't care what washington is up to...washington can do a lot of silly things...like vacation admist world war III

Wouodn;t be nice to have all that vacation time. I think if I got about 4 weeks out of year I wouldn't be on all these psych drugs. I think that goes for many of us slaves to the system,.. (I hate admitting that)

The President is never really "on vacation." Even when he's not in DC he is still available and working. Can you blame him for not wanting to hang out in DC? Texas is way cooler.

as far as the president is concerned, it doesnt matter to me where he is to do his job, in today's world he doesnt need to be in Washington to do his job, i am talking about any president.

Also i would like to suggest that Clinton would probably be taking more days off if he wasnt getting some in the oval office, just a thought.
