We had sex 5 days ago and I am supposed to get my period on the 4th. I have heard so many different explanations about ovulating and such and I just want to be clear. Can I test for a pg anytime soon, or will the results not work because it is to early? Thanks everyone.

Generally ovulation occurs in between that is in the middle of the two menstruation periods. In your case, the chances of getting pregnant are remote unless for some reason the ovulation was suppressed and it occurred on the day you are hinting of having coitus If it had been 14 days before the chances would have been bright.Remember that the fertilization and implantation of the egg depend on whether there are sufficient number of sperms and on the place where the egg and the sperms meet.

It can happen, if your cycle is normal, most women ovulate 14 days after they start their period. If you do not get pregnant this time, you might try ovulation test kits. Alot of the new pregnancy tests work pretty early. Good Luck, hope everything turns out the way you plan!

You might be pregnant, but you shouldn't test at least until you miss your period. You should buy the preganancy tests that have a few extra ones in the box & start testing on the 4th.

When I was trying to get preg., the doctor told me that if you count 9 days from the first day of your period, that is when you ovulate. Good luck.
