If it is indeed illegal for minors under the age of 16 to have sex, do the teen mother get a fine? Or do they think having a baby is punishment enough? Above all, is this even a real law? All answers are appreciated.

They need to make it illegal for minors to have sex because they do not have any concept of what having babies is all about, having an STD or AIDS. All they know is that they want to play grown up.

No, its "not illegal" for a minor to have sex under the age of 16... But, if some one over the age of 18 has sex with a minor under the age of 16, then its totally illegal as that person, who is an adult is being a pediphile and can be sent to jail for statuatory rape, (5-15 years in most cases).

Be as it may, if a minor has a child, then either the parents take care of it, or, the State steps in and has it adopted out, if the minor is unable to provide for the care of it.

A baby should 'never' be considered 'punishment' to anyone! Its a gift from the LORD! To be cherrished and loved...

I wish you well..

No, whats illegal is an older person having sex with a minor under 17 (in Wisconsin, don't know about other states). I think it's called statutory rape. But here 2 teens having sex under the age of 17 is not illegal.

What I couldn't believe the other day was, there was this girl (16) and she had her boyfriend (16). Her boyfriend beats the poop out of her and the cops came and they just said, "Oh, it's just 2 kids fighting." So all the boyfriend got was a $60.00 ticket.

Crazy isn't it!!

The only way that it is illegal for minors to have sex is if their partner is over the age of 18. Also, as far as I know, there are not any laws concerning teen pregnancy.

It is not illegal for two 16 year olds to have sex with each other. It IS illegal for an 18 year old to have sex with someone under the age of 18 (or 16 in some states). It is not illegal for two 14 year olds to have sex with each other but I hope they don't.

I think it's only illegal for the UN-minor to have sex with the minor. However, I wish I could FIND some teen mothers who wanted to give their baby up for private adoption - I would be on it like white on rice.

It's not illegal if both partners(sexual) are minors or even if one partner is 18 and the other is within 6 mo. of attaining the age of consent (18) If one is legallay an adult, and the other is well below the age of coonsent, then the parents/guardians of the younger can press statutory rape charges.

Majority of teen mothers who get pregnant die while giving birth. And it isn't the minor who gets in trouble with the law, its the adult who could get charges for raping a minor. I'm not sure about minors having sex though.

It's not illegal for minors to have sex with each other. It's illegal for an adult (someone 18 or older) to have sex with a minor.
In that case, the adult gets in trouble.
