I just want to know where the best places are to live, earn a living, go to school, and possibly have kids.

I am partial to my hometown, Philadelphia. It's beautiful, compact, culturally diverse, has lots of historical sites, concerts, museums and reasonably priced housing.

As a port city with a working shipyard, it has any and all goods from all over the world available, and usually at reasonable prices. Vegetables and fruits come in from local sources, and work of all types is there in abundance. You can get to all points east easily using Amtrak or the Chinatown buses.

There are great schools, too. All types of educational experiences are concentrated in one place. Eating is great; restaurants of all kinds and cuisines abound.

Try Philly!

Maine, NH or Vt. there is a good style of land on the marketplace in smaller cities and intensely friendly right down to earth human beings. Many small farms and farmers markets. a lot of human beings do homestead canning, holistic healing centers and are very family individuals oriented. considerable cities could be pushed to in an hour or 2 yet quite a few mom and dad shops or smaller strip shops if necessary.

If you don't mind a ridiculously high cost of living, the NY metro area is a great place to live.

The entire northeast is becoming a cesspool. Stay away from the blue counties. These are your big cities with high crime rates, bad public schools, high cost of living, highest child poverty rates, the most traffic.
