Why so much hate toward non-Muslims?

All through the Middle East there is hatred toward the non-Muslims who live in Europe and America. Some feel that our lifestyles are immoral. Some think we put the desire for oil above everything else. Some think we don't show enough respect for their prophets. But what is the real reason for the deeply felt hatred? Most of us are just plain, easy-going people who don't want to hurt anyone. We have a live-and-let-live attitude. Why so much hatred toward us?

The Muslims that you speak about are tired of The United States of America and Europe big brothering them. I am sure that what other countries see about the USA is not good. I once watched an Oprah show that interviewed other countries and their opinions of US people...I was shocked. It is not far fetched when shows like Jerry Springer represent us as a country. We also are very violent--gangs, drugs, murders, rape and so on. If I lived in another country and followed our news I would think that we are a nation of mean, bone crunching, money hungry, cow loving, meat eating, McDonald over loading and super sizing group of people. I know that only speaks of a small few, but that is what is represented in other countries.

In the world according to Paul, it's impossible to *hate* a whole nation or creed. But that's what the religious and political leaders want both sides of us to do, because that makes things a lot easier (for them). If you stop seeing other people as a human beings like yourself and label them *the enemy*, you don't have to feel bad about anything you do to them coz they *deserve it*.

I was talking to a friend yesterday when the News showed mentally disabled Lebanese people, walking around totally disorentated in the ruins after another bombing. Some of them were crying. They're Muslims, too, and I don't think their main goal in life is hating non-Muslims.

Its mainly jealousy, people tend to hate people who they think have more then they do. Most people think the grass is greener on the other side and since they feel powerless to achieve the same things that we have in the US, they criticize us and hate us instead. The thing is America is a melting pot of all nations and people from all over the world make up the US, so that also make them angry because we do have that live and let live attitude and we are not trying to separate and hate one group of people. Well, at least some of us feel that way which is the majority. Good question.

The answer is that they are jealous. They are jealous that Non-Muslim countries control the world. They are Jealous of European and American Riches. Another reason is that throughout history many Europeans hated Muslims. The Crusades is a perfect example of this mutual dislike between Europeans and Muslims.

You answered your own question! If they feel we are immoral, then they feel we threaten their way of life! We DO put oil above everyting else! My God, we're fighting a war over it!! Most of us don't show any respect for the GOD we believe in let alone theirs! From their eyes we are the devil, threatening their way of life! What would you want to do to the devil? They have morals, WORSHIP their GOD and want to protect their way of believing just like we do! Our country has always lied, broken our promises, stepped on others for our own gain and then brag about it, interfeared with other countries and then take the side of their enemies and a whole host of other ignorant things!! You have to look at us from their eyes! I understand why they hate us!

i dont hate muslims. i hate the religion islam. people had the nerve to kill my uncle in the WTC in the name of "allah." forgive my bitterness, but from what i've been through, i can never see islam as a peaceful religion as i did before 9/11. but i have no hatred for those not responsible, or even the ones that are. my religion tells me to hate the sin, not the sinner.

In France we also have such a problem. Muslim people want us accepting their religion and way of life but they do less effort to accept native people non-muslim.

So are people originally from Meditterranean sea. They keep without giving.

More you accept and more they think you are weak . . . so . . .

And the bad thing is that they believe (some of them and extremists having influence) that we want destroy their countries !

Islam is a religion who ask the believers to make more believers . . . This is a religion where we don't ask anyone to understand the reason of this or that, they just have to apply and believe . . .

relax,u didn't light the fire. your goverments did.west has so many policies to middle east that they got sick. middle east wishes to be left alone,peel west from their back so, goverment policies can bring lots of blame to citizens who doesn't even care what policy exists in their goverments grand foreign policy menu.
