Go above the Internet Window and find the clock that has a pointer, This is called the History Tab, it'll give you all the sites, pictures, etc. they have seen. Alternatively hold Ctrl+H. Most of the time I wouldn't count on it because it can be erased easily, so just don't tell them about it.

As far as porn is concerned, you don't need to worry yourself on that account. If he can't see it from home, he will get to see it at a friend's home, or someone else will share their stash with him!

Size of the porn stash is often a matter of pride for teenagers.When I was at school, My friend had a 10 GB secret/encrypted partition with all kinds of porn . It was a matter of pride for him and envy for us all. ( My comp had only20 GB hdd then. and I could not possibly keep porn cos my dad would have felt suspicious if all the spacewas hogged by a 10GB container)

Anyways, you can't keep a good porn down. It will emerge from someone's closet anyways. What with CDs being cheap, how are you going to stop your son from procuring from someone else and watching porn which he has renamed as "SAT READING COMPREHENSION GUIDANCE VIDEO.MPG"???

And that eternal question? Why are all girls/parents so obsessed with porn? Like , why do they find it so offensive? I don't know any guy around me who didn't watch porn. And surprisingly enough, All these guys grew up and got nice jobs, and are nice ppl as such.


What you need to do is restrict your children's access to those chatting sites like yahoo. And ask them NOT to give anyone their contact details. It is to save them from those sickos out there that you must try and monitor their usage. And plz give them some privacy. You don't want anyone to spy on you in you bathroom any more then they want anyone keeping tabs on everything they do.


PS-I have heard of priests who were pedophiles. Will you try to monitor your children when they are in church?

Most kids know how to delete their cookies, cache, history, and cover up their tracks.

I recommend installing a Router / Switch / Firewall. You can limit the the access to the internet, and there's a firewall log that they can't delete.

I think they are called 'nannies' ... not really sure though, I've never had to do that (although I should have... 20 year olds can be just as bad as 12 year olds on the net).

All you have to do is log in under their account, open their browser and press CTRL + H, and you'll see the history of the web sites they visited.

i dunno about free software now, but when windows vista comes out you will have that choice. there is a feature built into the operating system that allows you to see what goes on not only through the internet, but the entire computer in general.
