He still has a long way to go!! I think it is most unlikely that he will reach or break DiMaggio's record.

I don't think so. Back when DiMaggio set the record, there wasnt as much media and publicity to deal with. Now that Chase Utley is trying in 2006, the pressure will get to him, and he will crack. I say he gets to 40 games, then cracks

Unlikely. I don't know anything about Utley's internal fortitude, but if anyone breaks that record they will have to possess amazing focus, dedication, inner strength and the ability to effectively deal with the ensuing media circus. He's only at 32 games and look how much attention he's getting. And every day it will get worse.

Trust me when I say this, he will never catch Joe D.! Chase Utley plays in Philadelphia where no records get broken and no championships are won!

It would be cool to see Utley catch him, but hitting in 56 straight is a tough feat to accomplish. Best of luck to him!!

No, are you kidding me? There is a reason that this record has been for so long and that not even the best hitter ever, Pete Rose, could do it. I'll be a believer the day before he does it. Until then, its still too long of a road.

No, I would be very surprised if that record is ever broken, it's just too tough to get a hit every game for such a long streak.

a pair years in the past i changed into in Kentucky. We went to a park interior a cemetery to feed some ducks and swans some bread. human beings were petting the swans so i determined i could attempt. It chased me, and that i fell right into a pond.

highly unlikely if you look to record books that haven't been a 40 hit streak since pete rose back in 78

I really don't know - but one thing I do know:
It's sure fun watching him try! It made the blowout Cards game last night actually entertaining.
Records are made to be broken. If he doesn't break it - someone will!
