The effectiveness of keeping a conspiracy intact is completely dependent on the number of people involved; the more people there are, the less likely the conspiracy will hold over time. There were literally tens of thousands of people involved in the Apollo program, and it has been over thirty years since the last lunar landing; faking the landings and keeping the people silent would have been more difficult than actually performing them.

On three of the Apollo missions, laser reflection dishes were set up which scientists use to this day to accurately calculate the distance between the Earth and the Moon. This equipment could only have been set up manually; no robotic missions could have performed these tasks.

The Clementine lunar satellite was able to take a picture of the Apollo 15 landing site, but the resolution was too low (100 meters) to be considered overwhelming evidence. The Indian space program plans to send a remote sensing spacecraft in 2007, called Chandrayaan I, which has a five meter resolution. Assuming the craft is successful, its images should provide definitive evidence that the moon landings were real.

No matter what evidence one provides, however, someone will always come up with an excuse to negate it. "The scientists are in on the conspiracy with the laser reflector experiment", or "The images from the satellite are fake", or "They set up the Apollo landing sites afterwards using robots". One has to set their own limits on when evidence becomes definitive, and then stand by that limit.

Ronin... why oh why do you think anybody before the 1920s never existed? Since my grandmother was born in 1913 she never existed? Thusfore my father could never have come in to this world and I would not be sitting at my computer right now??? Interesting I would love to hear your hypothesis.
Now to answer the question, Yes. We really landed on the moon. It was an amazing, highly technological feat. It is one of our greatest achievements. There was nothing Hollywood about it. Although Conspiracy Theorists do love to believe that it was concocted in conjuction with Hollywood. We know that the moon does not have the same gravity that earth has... so space centers have recreated gravity rooms to prepare more missions to gravity lacking planets. How would we know this? WE PUT OUR FOOTPRINT AND FLAG ON THE MOON!! YAY \o/ USA!!

there are a lot of theories as to why the moon landing was in fact faked. some facts include the why the flag was waving and moving when in space there is no air at all. others include the fact that the astronauts would need a very large radiation shielding against the van allen radiation belts that exists on the moon. some claim that photos or even film could not taped because it would melt in the intense heat on the moon. but then again that is all pseudoscience.

Yes, of course we went to the Moon. But don't take my word for it, if you have doubts. Look it up and form your own opinion. Go ahead and find a web site that purports the Apollo Moon program was a hoax. Look at their evidence, and where they got their evidence. Then find a site that says we did go to the Moon (my favorite is http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html but there are others). Again, look at their evidence, and where they got their evidence. Once you have all the information, you can create an informed opinion.

The US really went to the Moon. Don't just listen to rumors from people who don't know or from that bogus FOX TV show. Look up some real information on the web. The source below is really good.

Who knows? I don't think that america has faked their moon landing, but i do believe that the russians have been to the moon before the americans.

Kudos to the rest of the group, but Alex didn’t you know; the Russians crash landed one or two unmanned probes on the moon BEFORE the Americans ever set foot on its surface.

It was one of mankind's great achievements. It has been documented from the very beginning. Thousands of people in many countries contributed to the effort.

It is a silly rumor that it was a hoax.

;-D Some people will believe anything.

Yes I do, but I don't believe that Lincoln ever existed. That is all made up. In fact, I think everyone assumed to have lived before 1920 was made up.
