I agree gas has jumped dramatically in price in recent years. Believe me it's hit my wallet too.

But just for argument sake, take a look at the gas prices 25 years ago. Then take a look at the income, cost of living, etc.

Now take a look at income, and price increases for other consumer items.

Take into account inflation percentages.

Compare that percentage to the increase in gas prices.

Or you could take a look at the prices of gas in England or Australia.

Considering the amount of gas our country consumes...it could be worse.

No I don't work for Exxon, et. al. and yes I would enjoy cheaper gas. Just trying to shine light on all aspects of this issue.

Then lower the prices, if you really do have the position. ALot of people are going to become bankrupt if the gas prices go any higher!

I'm under the impression that they raise gas prices to appease the stock holders. After all, unless prices rise they won't make profits and will find other ventures to put their money towards. ;o)

Honestly, does it matter? The gas price has stayed way under the inflation rate for so long. It was bound to catch up to us.
