Do you have a modem cable to connect to your telephone socket? If not you'll need one unless your laptop is wireless enabled and you have a broadband connection to a pc and a wireless router. Assuming you don't (because if you did you wouldn't be asking), get a modem cable, plug in and use the icons on your desktop to connect using the wizard. Or you can choose an internet service provider and get a cd from them which will do the job for you.

Go to start Menu options
den Programs
den Accesories
den Communications
den New Connection wizard

complete the wizard by choising your Internet Service (either Dial Up or Broadband)

may be you have given IP Address and Subnet with Gateway and DNS.. add that details my network connection in a specific LAN Card

make sure you have installed your internet provider package...
you need to goto control panel, internet options.... and set-up the connections there...... if you have a cd-rom disc use that to set up your internet... choose yahoo mail as it is free and protects you... if you get stuck ,email me...

go to control pane and click internetoptions icon and execute connection tab,there yu can create a new internet connection.
