My goodness, this is an urban legend I had not heard. Heart beat in your neck? Seriously, this does not happen and it can not happen. It is anatomically and physiologically impossible. I do ultrasounds on pregnant women, and I can tell you that by ultrasound, it is possible to detect a heart rate at around 5-7 weeks. But bear in mind, that is with a trans-vaginal ultrasound, meaning it is very up close and personal. Finding the heart rate through your neck would not be too up close or personal, and it would be the difficult way to go at all times.

no you can not feel or see the second heartbeat in your neck. What you are seeing is your own pulse. The only way to see or hear the second heartbeat is by ultrsound. Usually around 12 weeks is when you can hear the second heartbeat. The second heartbeat is much faster than your own. I hope this helps!

in your neck? No, the fetal heartbeat can only be heard in the womb/uterus. The heartbeat you see and feel in your neck, is probably your own.... but if something weird is happening to you, call your drs office and ask the nurse.

Your own pulse in your neck? You should be able to feel this at all times.

As for feeling the babies heartbeat, No, you can't feel it. If it's quiet enough though, and you're about six months along, it's possible for your baby's Daddy to hear it though. My husband could when he put his ear to my tummy.

When a woman becomes pregnant, one of the things that happens is that her circulation gets geared up to provide more blood circulating about. This is because it has to provide food and oxygen for the passenger as well.

You maybe noticing that your neck pulse (carotid pulse), which is there normally, is more prominent. This can happen when your body revs up the circulation in pregnancy.
