Well, an active 14 year old needs about 8 hours of sleep, so think of when you have to wake up, and work back 8 or 8.5 hours (you add a little more if you don't fall asleep quickly) from that. Then wake up, have some healthy for breakfast (allow time for this every day), and you'll be good to go.

If you're falling asleep in classes, you're not getting enough sleep at night. Another way to tell if you're sleep-deprived is to lay down in a dark, quiet room. If you fall asleep in less than half an hour, you're sleep-deprived.
Teens need more sleep - your body is being worked much of the day (at least I hope your school still requires gym classes), and your mind is constantly being worked. If you can get 9 hours a night, understanding that you exercise an hour a day, you're doing well. If you're still falling asleep in class, try getting more sleep.
If a class is truly boring (or you can't get any more sleep), try standing at the back of the class and taking notes. It's very hard to fall asleep while standing. This got me through some of my more boring classes in undergrad.

Hey. 14 eh? Well I'm 16 and for some reason 10:30 PM did me just fine... I could wake up exactely on time no matter when I sleep... so I changed that to 11 PM later on.
As a teenager of course your gonna loose sleep but make sure to get enough to study hard and focus on your goals. Take care.

It is suggested that both adults and children get at
least eight (8) hours of sleep a night. A child will
most likely need additional sleep due to the fact
that a child's body does most of it's growing when
the child is asleep.
I would suggest that a teen at the age of 14 stay up
no later then 9:30pm on a school night.
