Not necessarily. Some say the helmet has saved their life, others just refer to it as a nuisance hat. Wearing a helmet is no guarantee that you will survive a crash, but it will leave your head intact so you are easier to identify after plunging through the windshield of a Cadillac.

Most likely not and you would at least have major injuries, I would think the idea behind a helmet is for slightly less intense activities like mountain biking trail and getting thrown by a tree root, or hitting a wall (don't laugh, this one happened to me).

well it protects your head from any more damage that it will take if you get hit by a car you might have broken bones but you wont have any head injury's and become a vegetable
