obviously it depends where you are picking and what's available.

99 times out of 100 I'll take RB with my first pick.

I usually try to take a RB with pick #2 as well; but it depends where you are drafting. If you are picking high (top 3-4 picks) you'll be picking late in the 2nd round.

If all the teams with a 2nd pick before you are taking RB and leave Terrel or Chad out there, take him and get a RB on the way back up in round 3.

After 5 rounds, you must have at least 2 RB and 2 WR - preferably 3 RB / 2 WR

Other people will tell you to take a QB - I never have one of the top QB's because I find (1) there's not a lot of difference between the #2 QB and the #10, and (2) I am better served by having 3 quality backs - it gives me depth and trade potential.

No matter where you pick, be sure to get a RB first and foremost. Depending on the field you have to choose from your second pick should definately be a RB if there is one left you would pick. Third go for the WR that you ranked in your top 3 then fourth get your QB. With thirty-six teams in the NFL, and 12 teams in your FF league, there is time to sit and wait on a decent QB, especially if your FF league has a salary cap.

I recommend in your first 3 picks to get 2 RB and your QB. Then pick 4 get your first WR. That's how I've been drafting the pass few years and I've made it to the playoffs the last three years.

It depends on how large of a roster you play in your league. Generally speaking, running backs are at a premium. Usually, my first three picks are running backs if not the first four picks. I wait on quarterbacks because, other than the first echelon of top quarterbacks, you can still get a good producing qb in the later rounds. Wide receivers are a bigger gamble as they are very reliant on a good qb (and the qb getting injured) and don't get as many touches per game as a rb. That's why I'm hesitant to pick them too early.

Personally, I believe you win a league in the later rounds with the sleepers you choose and the mid-season pick-ups. Everyone knows the top players but it's the unknowns that do well in the season that will make you a top team.
