If you are still comfortable working, you can work up until you have the baby. In my state, I got disability the same month I was due so I quit my job the 1st of the month and had him a month later (my son came 2 weeks late). Don't push yourself working cause you can stress the baby out or yourself.

My sister who was pregnant last November worked until three weeks before she was induced. She was a cashier which requried a lot of standing, but she still did it. If its a safe job work as long as you want unless the doctor tells you otherwise. While I was pregnant I wasnt allowed to work because I had a weak uterus and had a hard time carrying a baby to full term.

If she has a job that requires physical labor, probably in the second trimester.
I do most of my work at a desk, am due in two weeks and plan to work until I deliver.
If the doctor believes the job is problematic, he'll let you know when to quit or if you even need to.

well im pregnant right now. (12 almost 13 weeks) and right now im not working because i just moved from virginia to texas. i had a job before i moved, which was really hard on me b/c it required a lot of lifting (up to 25lbs). well at the end of august i have another job lined up. i'll be babysitting for my mother in law's friend. the child is 3 months and i plan on babysitting him until i feel that i cant. i know that when my mom was pregnant with me and my two sisters and brother, she worked up until it was time for her to pop. my advice is to not work a real stressful job or one that requires you on your feet for long periods of time

Ask your doctors advice. If you are high risk, he'll probably want you to quit earlier than if there are no problems. But, if he says to quit...then do it! My first pregnancy with twins landed me in the hospital at 26 weeks because I thought I could work the extra two weeks (he wanted me to quit at 24 weeks) because I felt fine and needed the money, so I continued to work. The entire month after I spent on bedrest in the hospital hooked up to IV's and they were born at 32 weeks. It really wasn't worth the few extra dollars to put myself and the babies at risk. Hope that helps.

I am 19 weeks and I want to work until it's time to give birth. I sit at a desk for eight hours on yahoo answers and on the net looking at things for my baby. I work 32 hrs a week, that's Kool with me.

If it is a normal pregnancy, she can work until the very last minute. My wife did with all our 3 kids and was up and at it only minutes after the deliveries. We had our kids with midwives at home. Of course, regular doctor's checkups to see that everything was going well.

your doctor will take into account the mother's health and job responsibilities and can tell the mother when is a good time to stop working or will order the mother to stop if the job responsibilities are a danger to the unborn child.

that's up to you, your dr and the employer.

i am on the 6 week countdown myself and i intend to keep working until i go into labor.

now, if your dr puts you on bed rest, then obviously, you have to stop working.

as for the employer, usually, if your job is physically intensive they will have a "light duty" job for you until you deliver. but, they should not tell you that they don't have work for you b/c of your pregnancy....that is discriminatory and they need to accomodate you based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

take care!~

I worked as a waitress until I was eight months. It all depends on the pregnancy and the kind of work. Just do what you can.
