As one other person pointed out there is of course a State in the Union Named Georgia but the Republic of Gerogia is in eastern Europe has a capital of Tbilisi and was part of the Soviet Union until 1991. It is on the East Coast of the Black Sea.

yeah it's one of the former Soviet republics, it's next to Russia. The U.S. STATE of Georgia is in the Southeast, right above Florida. But there is no Republic of Georgia in the US.
