While it depends on what you're wearing, and what season of the year we're talking about, I can give you a general idea of what I would consider perfect accessories.

For a tailored suit or other professional attire, I would suggest gold earrings, a nice wristwatch, and a silk scarf at the neckline. Shoes and purse don't necessarily have to match, but should go together. For example, black pumps go well with a grey purse that has black trim. Try and stick to neutral colors in the suit, such as beige, grey, black, navy or brown. Then you can accessorize with brighter colors in the tailored blouse or shell, or in the scarf.

For more casual winter wear, I like the look of jeans, a cashmere sweater and a matching jean jacket. Boots are very appropriate with jeans or tailored pants. You can wear more trendy jewelry for a polished, yet casual look.

For summer dressier occasions, I like the look of a peasant skirt with a camisole top, and one of those cute, short sweaters that tie just under the bustline. Pretty sandals make the ideal footwear. You can wear strings of beads and chunky bracelets with this ensemble.

For office work in the summer, you want to look cool, but not too bare. How about a short-sleeved jacket over a tank, with a matching skirt or pants? Linen, silk, or cotton are cool summer fabrics. Pumps in a light, neutral color, and simple pastel jewelry complete this outfit.

Casual weekend wear is your call. Shorts, jeans, light-weight pants, tanks, peasant blouses, tees -- anything goes.

A year-round look for casual/dress -- my favorite is the famous "little black dress". I like to accessorize it with white or off-white accessories and silver jewelry. It's a look that flatters most everyone.

There are really no hard and fast rules. Use your judgment and good taste. Dress appropriately for any occasion, and don't overdo. A good rule of thumb is "less is better". So if you're tempted to wear a fancy dress with lots of "bling" -- don't. It's better to pair a really dressy outfit with one nice piece of jewelry, than to display every item in your jewelry box at once.

You'll get the hang of it eventually, and will feel really good about yourself when the compliments come pouring in. Good luck!

Earrings work all the time. As for different styles of clothing check out the fashion magazines or on line for the latest accessories and decide which ones you might like to use.

Depends on your outfit. If you're wearing something loud and patterned, go with more subdued jewelry of you'll messy. If you're wearing solid colored pieces, then feel free to be more elaborate in your jewerlry to draw the attention upon your accessories.

Also, accessories vary in dressiness. For example, you wouldn't wear diamond chandelier earrings when you go jogging.

I think it is a long necklace and a great bag that doesn't have to match perfect just a contrasting color.
