Yep it can happen, my mate married someone reciently who used to be a lesbian.
She's going to be a widow if he tells me ONE MORE TIME that he cured her!!!!
(I never thought of it as her "coming out" before!)

It happens alot. Some people feel the need to try out the gay lifestyle because it's trendy. When they realise it's not the life for them, the news media could care less. The media only want to talk about who is gay not who is normal.

This question is dumb.
It can't logically happen.
People are assumed by the media to be straight.
Thus, the act of coming out only applies to someone who reveals that they aren't the straight norm but are inf act gay.
Now, if somebody came out as gay and then later on revealed they are straight, that would work I guess but I think most people would simply see that person as confused...

Sure. It sort of happened to me! I came out when I was pretty young. About five years ago, I met a great man that changed my mind! Doesn't mean I'm straight now. Just less gay, haha.

I guess that Anne Heche might have done that after she stopped dating Ellen Degeneres....but I don't know if she made a point of "coming out" on magazine covers and whatnot....

He only did it because he was tired of the rumors. Instead of people constantly asking and poking fun, he could change all of it by just admitting his homosexuality.
