That would involve having a team good enough to win more than 50% of their games.
The Padres, along with the rest of the NL West, are a .500 team if they're lucky. The best of the worst will come out and get a playoff spot.
But hey, the entire National League stinks this year.

I don't think so. If you are a Padres fan, and you appear to be, your hope needs to be that they don't do a tailspin as they are known for doing and not even make the playoffs. As a Red Sox fan, I'd love to see a Boston-San Diego World Series.
