Meth, no. Not unless it's just going to be temporary. I looked into renting a washer and dryer once in the hope of purchasing it that way. Please. It would have cost me over $1200 for used equipment that I could find in the paper for $200. Save your money.

The rental outfits provide a way to either get temporary furnishings - if you are in twon for a short time, for example, or having guests for an extended time - or obtain furnishings at a relatively low up-front price - and a staggering ultimate cost.
These companies are really in the finance business. They make their money by providing you that television at a price between 2 and 4 times what you would pay for it retail. Even if you put it on a cedit card at high interest or financed the TV purchase, you'd pay less over time.
If your credit will hold up to financing the purchase of your new TV, then do it through a competitive store rather than the rental company.

If your in town for a short while and you want to rent something for a few weeks I think that would be OK.
HOWEVER If you plan on renting for a long time or purchase it in the end. You can expect to pay with interest $1,000.00 for a $150.00 TV. These prices are approximate but close. Check there current interest and rental rate.
MUCH MUCH cheaper to purchase a TV than to rent!!!

They are a big ripoff. They let you take the furniture home the same day, but when you add up the total cost the TV will be way over priced. It's best to put the TV on a credit card. Or save your money until you can buy it. Not worth it.

hold off on rent-a-center if you can.
i do believe they are an extreme rip off. i contemplated using their services but after visiting a store, listening to the sales pitch and reading the fine print....i ran fast and never returned.
high interest, penalties, fees - its not worth it. by the time you're finished you'll find you've paid far more for the item than what it is worth. do some shopping around for another source. if you don't find one - then try saving up the cash and then go purchase your t.v.
good luck.

All rent-to-own places are rip offs. If you only make the minimum payments, you can end up paying 2 to 3 times as much as what you would have if you just bought the item outright.
Make the minimums; and pay off the balance in full ASAP. Just like your credit cards.

I just returned my laptop. I was paying 130 a month for an 18 month plan. add it up. They are a rip off. they only thing they are good for is if you have severely bad credit and you can't get approved to get anything elsewhere. I wouldn't waste the money.
