In your opinion, who or what is evil?

Nothing is pure anything: good or evil.
The degree of good or evil you assign to any person, act or object depends on your personal perception and the perceptions of the society you live in.
Pure good or pure evil reside in our myths and folklore, but not in reality. Everyone and everything has both. The best of us occasionally does something to hurt another and the worst of us will sometimes do a good deed.
I lived in Germany for awhile. I went there believing that Hitler had been pure evil. Then I talked to people who had lived during his time. He built roads, hospitals and schools. I was also told that our guys had raped young girls and stolen from local people. One woman I spoke to was a teen during WWII and had to hide in her basement from our soldiers in order to stay safe. I'm not saying that Hitler was a good man because of this or that our men were evil. I'm only stating that everyone has both good and evil in them.
Love can even be evil at times. It can become obsessive and hurtful, while hate can teach you how not to be. If you hate what someone does, then don't do it yourself to another.
I hope that I explained this well. It's a difficult concept for most people to really understand. I can only hope that most things that I do will be considered good. I can't speak for others. I'm sure there are some out there who think I'm evil to the core. Well, that is their perception, not mine.

Evil is more an outplaying of man's inhumanity to man than an energy all its own. We can be evil in deed when we so choose in any given situation.
