Emminent Domain, but don't even think about giving into it. Fight it. The policy is being fought all over the country and somewhat successfully. It goes against everything Americans stand for. Our founding Fathers were first and foremost...Landowners and most of the Constitution guaranteed the right to own land with nothing taking precedence over it. Stay where you are for all of our sakes!

"Eminent domain" is the name of the process. It is FAR from new - centuries old.

It has been in the news lately after the Ohio Supreme Court denied a city the right to take property so developers could make more money.

The US Supreme court a few months ago took an opposite position.

Eminent domain. And it's not new at all.

Haha the person below me is a moron. No I don't mean "imminent." Imminent means "impending." Check the wikipedia article you referenced, dork--it's called EMINENT!

Eminent Domain. (For the other posters, please note the correct spelling! That's an 'E' at the beginning, NOT an 'I'.)

There's nothing new about it at all. It's been around for hundreds of years and is entrenched in English Common Law.
