You cant. The most you can do is try to get her to understand what looks good on her and what doesnt. Maybe.....the fact that you think she looks bad,...doesnt speak for everyone else...?
If you trust your taste that much and think everyone else is looking at a mess the way you are...
try talking to her about different colors and shades.
Perhaps, she will look a lot better with just a little on instead of a lot...and maybe a different color...?
Try making some suggestions to her.
If she really will not listen at all to you, she will find out for herself from other people what she looks like....

why do u think she looks bad? maybe if you tell her exactly why then she will listen. But really, it's up to her. People do things for themselves, not for other people, so just b/c you think she looks bad, doesn't mean she or anyone else does. Even if everyone in the world thinks she looks bad, if she feels good inside her skin, that's all anyone can hope for.

What I would do is tell her that if she doesnt stop wearing make-up like she does that you wont be her friend anymore... JUST KIDDING... I would go thru some Teen magazines and find some different ways to wear it and try the styles together that way it wont seem like your trying to be mean just make it like a fun thing and who knows she mgiht like the way one of them look on her and change her style. Or she might hate them and stay the same... Who knows... Hope I could help you!!!

go to a department store with a beauty counter, a lot of them will do a free "mini-makeover" type thing... it's their way of trying to get you to spend a ton of money on their products. BOTH of you do it, that way it's just something fun instead of her feeling like you're insulting her. You'll get good makeup tips and maybe some of it will rub off on her.
OR
Get a bunch of friends together and set up a "mary kay" party. if you go to the mary kay website you can search for a consultant in your area. they'll come to your house, bring TONS of free samples and show all of you how to apply makeup so that it will look best on you. when I was in highschool my friends and I would do one before a big dance like homecoming or prom and the representative who came to the house would help us pick colors to match our dresses. Plus, if your friends decide to order anything you can earn free stuff. It's fun and maybe professional advice will make a diff to your friend.

you might not be able to get her to stop wearing, maybe you could try to help her on how to wear it. a lot of dept. store makeup counters are helpful in showing you what looks good on you. maybe take her to the mall one and stop by a counter that you like and ask for some tips.

you can't. if she thinks she looks good, then she will continue to wear it. why don't you two go to the mall and get some free make overs? that might help her. and even if you don't need the make over, at least she won't feel singled out or like you are picking at her.

Um I have to think more on this..........I have a friend who wears loads of makeup and my mom doesn't like her mainly because she wears it so dark and dresses bad, so I guess you could just tell her the only thing that is important is inner beauty.

I am a makeup artist. what you should do is ask her if you could maybe help, or offer to put on her makeup for her. sometimes you just have to be forward with that person and let them know that the way they are putting makeup on is just not working for them. offer some tips, maybe a different shade of color. lighter tones will always work.
