Better watch Hallmark channel's original movie on Frankenstein. That's what enticed me to actually use Mary Shelley's Frankenstein as a project, it was something like book illustratation. It's a really great story once you start from the Hallmark movie version. Of course there are some changes but if you read the novel you'd understand why they had to do that, and you'd learn the "truth" of how things did happen. that should give you enough motivation.

It's really not that long or boring to read once you enjoy reading it and become quite interested. Think of science as something that happens in everyday life and that it's a natural thing to do or does happen. It's not really that boring unless you think too clinical or too "technical" in terms of definition and stuff, basically that's what's really boring in science.

I forgot the link for the book summary. Anyway, even chapter summaries are still long so maybe you 'd like to reconsider reading the book again. it should interest you to know how frankenstein came into being and what it's like to be a "fake human" or something.

It's a great book. Go read it through. =)

Frankenstein is such a good book. You're not going to want to believe me. I read it in high school and absolutely hated it. Didn't want anything to do with it at all. Put off the assignment as long as possible. Then college happened. I read the book three more times for assigned readings...I can tell you one thing. The book grows on you. Each reading brought me more appreciation. I finally "got" why the book was so good.

Now I'm not going to lie to you and say that every sentence was spellbinding and wonderfully exciting, but stick with it enough to get to the "good" parts and if read with an open-mind, you might just like it a bit better than you do now.

Here's another clue. The book isn't so much about "science" as it is about humanity. What does it mean to be human.

And here's your link to the cliff notes.

There are a few parts of the book that get a little slow, and the science part can be a little overwhelming, but it really is an amazing story. Definitely worth the read. Although if you are that against it, I would recommend bookrags.com that got me out of a lot of pinches back in high school. It breaks down each chapter, gives plot synopsis, theme breakdowns, character descriptions and lots more! Good luck!

Just watch the movie, it's the exact same story. (I'm just kidding! The book and every movie adaptation I've ever seen are radically different.)

I'm not going to do your homework for you, but my advice to you is to take the "science" that lost your interest with a grain of salt. The book is not supposed to be a textbook for how to create another being. It's actually an allegory about humans striving to take on godlike powers. The point of the story is: maybe just because we CAN do something, doesn't mean we SHOULD.

No one is going to do your homework for you hun. And clif notes don't cover enough to get you through an exam. The book is excellent looking back on it but I won't say it was the easiest to get through. Boring as it may be to you, try to pace yourself; you still have a week just read 2-3 ch/day. It won't take too long and perhaps in the end you will see why it is a classic.

NO. No one has ever read the book. Or seen the movies. That is just a figment of your Teachers' imagination. There is no such person as 'Mary Shelley'. You are also a moron. Why do people like you always ask questions like: "Has anyone ever read....."?
Are you people and I use that word loosely, really so naive that you have to ask. Just read the book and quit procrastinating. Maybe at some future date when you aren't hanging around your idiot friends some one will ask an itelligent question about this book and you will be able to answer it.

Sorry, I haven't read it but I have seen some of the movies. I would skip the boring part and read the rest.

I had to read the book last summer, and I thought it was alright, but a bit cumbersome. Use sparknotes and cliffsnotes for supplemental information-- you really should try to read the book.

I read it for "fun". I admit I got bored too. Unfortunately, one of the things about going to school is doing the homework you were assigned. I hate to say it, but you're on your own, kiddo.
