Why shouldn't USA recognise a muslim's polygamous marriage?
Maybe I'll leave USA if USA leaves Iraq!

Unfortunately you are right...The US is in the process of tackling this issue and equally unfortunate is the fact you suffer as a result. I blieve in gay's having the right to unite in loving reltaionships...What the issue/problem is the religiuos connotations of the word marriage...Marriage implies sanction from God (if there is one) and many blieve that God says homosexuality is sinful (which he/she/it never specifically states). I believe that LOVE is the guiding principle and Gay Unions should be legal and it's just semantics that are in the way of that happening. PEACE!

There isn't a universal recognition in the US of the legal statuses granted in other countries. I'm sure there are treaties between the US federal government for recognition of marriage and such, but the federal government has refused to recognize same-sex marriage for around a decade (since DOMA).

Of course, you could always move to Massachusettes, where same-sex marriage is allowed by that state. Once a Mass resident, you would probably have to re-file the paperwork to have your marriage recognized in that state.

It is not arrogance. Whatever one think about the matter, this is their right to recognize it or not in their own country. If you go there, follow the local laws.

Should they recognize polygamy because muslim countries do ?

You should be glad that Spain has advanced laws, and let the other countries go forward their way.

NB: I am not from USA.

We have our laws and they are there to follow and enforce. The issue has been on the ballot of many states and the majority of people do not want or approve of same-sex marriage. I don't think this will change anytime soon.

I am sure that Spain has laws that we probably wouldn't like - but that is their business. So I guess you have to live with it - or go somewhere else.

When you say "you're" you are implying that everyone is backwards. I am not backwards at all, in fact, rock on with your gay marriage. Just stay in Spain if your marriage isn't recognized here in the US.

Not our fault you don't like our LAWS. Stay in Spain! Sorry but you KNEW the law in this country when you ran to Spain, in all likelyhood, so don't come back and tell us that we need to change for you. Stay where you think you are better. Oh and if you don't think that Spain is better then why did you call us backwards?

If that is aa problem, then you should have stayed in Spain. Remember the saying when in Rome do as the Romans do.....
You are in America the rules are the rules!!!!

Is it stupidity that you would ask such a question? US laws are directed by a national democratic process. Arrogance is not part of the process.

So stay in Spain if you don't like the US laws.

I don't have to support your "gay marriage" just because your country does.
