Worming would be the first priority, then set up an every three month worm schedule.
Feet need trimmed about every 3 months, usually they can go a lot longer between foot work than a horse,
Start feed in small amounts (about a pint ) and give it several times, at least 4 times a day. Leave hay out as free choice for them.
Use a grass hay NOT high protean or quality hay at first.
Be sure they have clean water.
You will be amazed at how much a pet and soft words spoken to them will do.
Just be prepared to do everything slow and often. It will take several months for them to get healthy.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you really don't seem to know much about donkeys. Do you really think you should have rescued them if you don't know even how to feed them?

Well feeding, since they are really thin I would keep them on grain and oats. I would give them a pound or so of food, twice a day. You can also buy special food to help with weight gain. You can also feed, hay. I would do second crop because it can promote weight gain. But I would feed timothy hay, you can feed alfalfa, but it should be fed gradually. Because they can get colic if they are not used to being fed with it. Colic is when a horse or equine gets a stomache and since equines can't throw up they get really sick. If a vet is not called immediatly and the equine walking , it will become fatal.

And you should clean thier hooves everyday. You can buy a hoof pick for that. They are inexpensive and everyone that has these kinds of animals needs one. It is rather hard to explain how to clean them since I can't show you. But you will need to get a fairier, and he can show you, so can your equine vet.

As for worming, you buy a tube of worm medicine. Or depending on the weight of your donkeys and size you might have to buy 2. And you follow the directions on the package. Depending on the type of worming medicine you get, you might need to only worm every six months, but usually it is every three to four.

Hope this helps

We wormed the horses whenever they looked bloated just in case. otherwise, we used an injection wormer which was needed once per year. When I was feeding my friend's donkeys while she was on vacation they ate half a flake of oat hay in the evening and half a flake of alfalfa in the morning. Clean their feet just as you would a horses, pick 'em up and use a hoof-pick. There's not much to caring for them other then making sure you have a vet come out and give them all the proper vaccines and then you do proper grooming and socialize with them often.

u should contact a vet and a stable to find out how to take proper care of ur donkeys. u take care of donkey alot like horses. horses and donkeys ( in this case ) should always have fresh hay and water ( unless there in a pasture with good grass they woudnt need hay ). talk to a vet in ur area about coming to ur house and checking out the donkeys and making a feed plan for them. if u give them too much grain when they havent had any they could get sick and colic or founder. i would call a stable and they could teach u how to pick there feet and anything else u need to learn to do. i would proibily be best to call the vet first thing.
