This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

Yes its true that you can get pregnant on your first try. BUT, it can also take a long time, and sometimes for no apparent cause.
We had all the work-ups - no problems for either of us separately, but for some reason it was taking a long time for us. After several different fertility drugs/treatments & 1 miscarriage throughout the course of more than 3 years... we finally opted for Invitro & after the 2nd try, we were blessed with twins.

I was 29 when we first started trying.
Good Luck to you. Like the others said, you may be lucky enough to get pregnant on your first try, so make sure you are ready for that. Having a baby is a big responsibility and it is also the most amazing thing in the world, but you really should be ready and willing to make sacrifices. If you are at that point in your life, then you should also remember too, that it doesn't always happen when "You" plan for it. SOMETIMES for whatever reason it can take a lot longer, so don't wait too long to start trying if your ready now.

I was 19, and my husband and I tried for 8 mths after getting off birth control. After a couple of years we decided to have another, and it took us 4 mths to concieve that time. It all depends on timing. Your best chances of concieving are the days you are most fertile. Usually right after your period. There are many ovulation calculators that you can do over the internet. Thats what I used to concieve my second child.
