We must hope that it continues much as it is. Cuba has been very successful under Castro. It has excellent public education and the best health care programme in the world - which is free to everyone. The life expectancy in Cuba is higher than the USA. Also, because of the US boycott they are not saturated with cheap junk like MacDonald's so, unlike most Yanks, they don't wobble as they walk.
Castro has demonstrated the the possible success of a popular socialist economy and should be applauded for it.
There are issues to resolve such as that of political prisoners, but, then, US and Israel have political prisoners so they can stuff their smug attitudes where the sun don't shine.

With President Fidel Castro in all likelihood stepping aside for good, his brother will take over the reigns, which he has done so now temporarily, and Cuba will become even much stronger than before as he has been well-groomed by Castro and he appears to have a well-sharpened will-power to stand up to bullying by countries like the USA! And, sooner or later, America has to or will be forced to come to terms with Cuba and mend its relations as its Latin and Central American links are rather shaky! Also, USA may want to control the immigrants flocking to America from Cuba!

Cuba has a higher standard of literacy than the USA,and better welfare.Unfortunately the Americans are so paranoid they will attempt to invade this island again when Castro dies to liberate it's people. God bless America! Lol

Now that Fidel is sidelined with some pretty serious ailment:

Starbucks will set up shop on every other corner.

SuperWalMarts will take over the island.

Cuba, the end is near...

As long as it is a family business, probably very little will change unlike China where it is a party business and the Communist party is far from being communist anymore.
