Once I read the average was 6-8 but isn´t that too much?

6-8 is about right, but if you just look at younger guys, like between the ages of 15 and 30, the average jumps up to probably about 15 times a day. Guys just learn to get very good at hiding them, so you would never know.

Erections are caused by stimulation and can vary from once a day to as many as 20 times a day, and the younger the person, the greater the frequency. (12-20 years of age). But do not confuse erections with ejaculations...males can ejaculate about 6-8 times a day only.

Sorry, there is no statistic about the question you put and so no average.
The only similar statistic presents concerns the number of sexual acts (with a female) a man have in a day or during an intercourse.
Your question is quite different because concerns the simple erection only.
Practically, a common guy could get no erection or hundred one in a day!
Please note that erection doesn’t mean ejaculation or masturbation!

I would say it depends on the man, and the age of the man. I would figure the younger men would be prone to erections more often then the old guys. But how would I know? I'm a woman :-)

depend on the erection, if this is with surprise, the 6/8 minutes is too much, you know everything can go up and down easily and in less than 2 minutes.

Depends on the age or mood. You can get erections (watching porns for example) or you cannot. Of course a teenager get more erections than an adult male.
