Do you know of any place for working adults to take fairly beginner classes for any type of dance in NYC? I tried the 92nd St YMCA but the one I took was a joke. Maybe their non-beginner classes are better?

The Y class I took was all about female bonding and not about actually learning anything. I rarely even broke a sweat.

You're not clear on what the problem was with the classes at the 92nd St. Y. However, Steps and Broadway Dance Center also offer weekend classes for adults:

I LOVE Steps www.stepsnyc.com They have so many courses on all levels. The atmosphere is really great and the prices are relatively cheap.

There's also Broadway Dance Center www.bwydance.com
