School plays are a good start. Also local community theater (they often have more challenging roles). If your school has a drama department, get involved. Take classes. But never limit yourself to acting. The best actor also know makeup, customs, lighting, set building, directing, etc. The more you know, the better you will be on stage. I have watched more than one member of my local theater company go on to "bigger" things

School plays are good practice, but if you want to be a good actress you must be willing to move, but until your old enough to move school plays are great they teach you a lot, but you will learn more if you open up your resume to community theater or a local profesional theater.

It depends how popular and good your theater program is at school. I'm pretty sure no REAL casting director/agent might come to any of your productions there, so I honestly suggest that you look for a REAL PROFESSIONAL theater and start auditioning!

Well how much experience do you have? I would do school plays, community plays and anything you can get into. The experience is priceless. I live in MI too.......there's alot out there! Don't do it just to be famous...do it because you love it!
