The same as for any other person - shop for something that suits his/her interests. Gay people have the same (non sexual) interests as anyone else. So buy a CD or a new phone or anything else you'd buy him/her if not gay.

Try to focus more on his interests and his hobbies when choosing a gift, not his sexual preference. Just because he is gay doesn't mean you have to buy him something GAY.
However, I've never gotten to shop for a gay guy before, and it actually sounds like a lot of fun. Try going to girly sections of stores and malls and just look around. Think of movies and shirts that are just as unique as he is.

That really depends on the person. Female? Male? Manly or feminine tastes. To play it safe: a personalized t-shirt, cologne or perfume, LV handbag- depending on your budget, or a gift certificate to an Aveda shop or massage parlor...... Good Luck!
